The Dutch minister of Transport, Camiel Eurlings, decided to perform another feasibility study on a High Speed connection from The Netherlands to Germany, which should be operating after 2020. Although the study should not necessary lead to the construction of the line, the budget has already been allocated in the MIRT program, which allocates budget for infrastructure projects for the Ministry of Transport between 2020 and 2028.
The HSL-East (HSL-Oost) study and project as abandoned in 2001, but "much has changed since then" admitted a MP. It is unknown when the new study will be published.
